Baffert Duo Top Early Kentucky Derby Betting Lines

With just one week until the 141st running of the Kentucky Derby, Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert has the top two wagering choices in odds released this week by Bodog.

American Pharoah has remained the early betting favorite for the Kentucky Derby, currently at odds of 5-2. The colt has rolled over his competition in his last two starts, winning the Rebel Stakes (G2) by 6 ¼ lengths and then taking the Arkansas Derby (G1) by eight lengths.

American Pharoah Hammered Down to Heavy Favorite for Kentucky Derby

After his eight length, dominating score in the Arkansas Derby (G1) last Saturday, the betting odds on American Pharoah to win the 141st Kentucky Derby took a plunge.

Bodog had the Bob Baffert trainee listed at 9-2 in early Derby betting odds, but after his impressive effort last Saturday at Oaklawn Park the money came in on the talented colt, and his odds have steadily dropped, currently at 2-1.

Dortmund Heads to Churchill Downs for Kentucky Derby Undefeated

Following in the hoofsteps of his sire Big Brown, the Bob Baffert trained Dortmund will head to Louisville on the first Saturday of May undefeated and one of the betting favorites for the Kentucky Derby (G1).

The colt won Saturday’s $1 million Santa Anita Derby (G1) by 4 1/4 lengths under jockey Martin Garcia, his sixth win in six career starts. Big Brown won his first three races including the Florida Derby (G1) and then won the 2008 Run for the Roses and Preakness Stakes.
